Rabies Virus G protein

Background:

Rabies is a high pathogenic zoonosis caused by rabies virus (RV), when its clinical symptoms appears,  the death rate is nearly 100%. Rabies virus is defined as Rabies lyssavirus in rhabdoviruses, it is a single-strand RNA virus. It mainly encodes five structural protein: N、P、M、G、L,among which G protein is the major antigenic protein that stimulates the organism to produce corresponding neutralizing antibody and induce cellular immunity. Therefore, G protein is the most effective protective antigen. On the other hand, it is also a preferred antigen for genetic engineering subunit vaccine research.

Clinical Significance:

RV infection test: Double-antibody sandwich method is applicatd in the test kit to detect the rabies in human and animals. Anyone who were attacked by canines should go through the test immediately, in order to win enough time to get treatment before it’s too late.

To determine whether the vaccine is true or false.

To supervise the immune effect of vaccine.

RLN(Canine Relaxin)

Background:

The amount of relaxin in femail animal’s serum or urine are significantly different when they are in different breeding states, normal pregnanct animal is observably higher relaxin concentration than unpregnant, pseudopregnant animals or animals that has delivered child. For canines and other animals. relaxin is a specific pregnancy hormone caused by embryo transplantation and embryonic disc formation. Reports have confirm the analyse of the RLN change in serum and urine can be used to determine the dogs and cats’ pregnancy state.

Clinical significance:

The volume of relaxin increases with the increase of gestation. For a 20 to 30dyas pregnant canine(the earliest can be 15days), its relaxin concentration in the serum is obviously increased compared to its unpregnant status (relaxin in unpregnant canine is nearly zero). So, relaxin can be a early indicator of canine pregnancy.

cCRP(Canine CRP)

Background:

Canine C-reactive protein is an annular pentamer protein with a approximate molecular weight of 100kD which consists of five subunits. Different from huaman CRP, two subunits of cCRP is glycosylated. It is not easily soluble in water, its crystal is rhombus, may be precipitated by sodium sulfate, it is not heat resisting and will be damaged in 56℃ in 30minutes. Its half-time period is about 16 hours.

cCPR is an acute reactive protein. Its concentration is less than 5mg/L in a healthy dog. When organism is stimulated by inflammation ,infection or tissue damage, proinflammatory cytokine IL-6, IL-2 and TNF will induce liver to compose CRP. The level keep going up in 4-6 hours and reach to the peak in 24-28 hours. After inflammation disappears, CRP level go down by 50% in 24 hours. Therefore, CRP is an outstanding supervisor index in systemic inflammation and disease development.

Clinical Significance:

cCPR can be used in diagnosis, treatment and detection of infectious diseases.

cCPR will increase gradually in traumatic disease, and decrease gradually after it reaches to the peak.

Though cCPR is not the only diagnostic index in neoplastic disease, it can be a detective index in the process in treatment and prognosis.
